There’s that moment when you’d love to stay under the throw, but the tea is going cold in the kitchen. The Cosy Poncho settles the matter with grace: you keep all the warmth of a blanket, and you simply get up with it.

Made from a thick, double-sided fleece, soft outside and in, it wears like a generous hoodie: proper sleeves, a very roomy cut that falls past the hips, a hood you pull up in one easy movement and a large pocket for cold hands or your phone. To the touch it is dense and plush, holding on to your body’s warmth and giving it back little by little.

Slip it on as you wake to open the shutters on a crisp morning, keep it on to read on the balcony when the air has a bite, find it again in the evening in front of a film, legs tucked beneath you. One size, for her and for him, worn exactly as you feel in it: at ease.

Does one size really fit everyone?

The cut is deliberately generous: 160 cm around the chest and 88 cm long, worn over pyjamas or over jeans. On a smaller frame it simply wraps around you that much further.

Can I move about in it?

That is the whole idea: it goes on like a hooded sweatshirt and leaves your hands free for a book, a mug or your phone. The large pocket keeps essentials close.

Is it for women or men?

For both. The shape is straight and very roomy, with no waist, and the shades follow the same thinking. In most households it ends up travelling from one pair of shoulders to another.

How should I wash it?

By hand, in cold water, without fabric softener, which is how the fleece keeps its shape and its loft. Do not wring it: press gently, then dry it flat in open air.

Does it get too warm indoors?

It is double-sided fleece, so it warms up quickly and thoroughly. In a heavily heated home, wear it over a t-shirt rather than a jumper. For milder months our cotton gauze throws are lighter.
